Greenwood Little Theatre (GLT) is thrilled to present a remarkable production of the timeless classic "Driving Miss Daisy." Please mark your calendars for Friday, June 30 at 7 pm, Saturday, July 1 at 2 pm, and Sunday, July 2 at 2 pm, as GLT brings Alfred Uhry's captivating story to life on our stage.

The auditions for "Driving Miss Daisy" will be held at the Davis Auditorium, located at 400 Cotton Street, Greenwood, Mississippi. We have two audition dates for your convenience: May 24 at 5:30 pm and May 28 at 2 pm. We encourage all aspiring actors to join us and bring their unique interpretations to the roles of Daisy Werthan, Boolie Werthan, and Hoke Colburn.

We have some exciting news to share with our beloved community. The Greenwood Little Theatre's lease on Davis Auditorium has been officially extended for another 10 years!

Get ready to enter the whimsical world of Dr. Seuss as Greenwood Little Theatre prepares to bring his beloved characters to life in their upcoming production of "Seussical, Jr." The dedicated crew, led by set designer Dezarae Leto and costume designer Jeanne Gewalt, have been working tirelessly since mid-December to create an enchanting and safe stage for the show's young performers.

The Greenwood Little Theatre is excited to announce that we are making plans for upgrades to our beloved Davis Auditorium. Our goal is to enhance the theatre-going experience for our valued audience members.

Auditions for the Greenwood Little Theater production of Seussical JR. are set for Tuesday, January 31st, from 5 pm to 7 pm, Friday, February 3rd, from 4 pm to 6 pm, and Saturday, February 4th, from 10 am to 12 pm. The auditions are open to children of all ages and will be held in the Davis Auditorium, 400 Cotton Street in Greenwood.

“The show meets people’s expectations,” Leto said. “It’s familiar, homey, heartwarming and nostalgic. It makes them come back to what matters and makes you reflect on life and how you matter in other people’s lives.”

Belva Johnston Pleasants, 93, of Minter City passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter on Nov. 29, 2022. She served as president of Greenwood Little Theatre.

The newest addition to the Greenwood Leflore Hospital surgical team — and its first female general surgeon — said she feels this is where she belongs.

“I feel incredibly lucky,” she said. “Everyone who knows I came here was like, ‘Why would you want to go there?’ And I said, ‘Because here is exactly where I need to be.’”

Auditions for Greenwood Little Theater production of It’s a Wonderful Life – The Radio Play are set for Wednesday and Thursday, November 9 and 10 at 6 pm. The auditions will be held in the Davis Auditorium, 400 Cotton Street in Greenwood.
