Meet Lydia Jacobs-Stagner: A Young Entrepreneur with a Passion for Baking and Theatre

Greenwood Little Theatre is thrilled to celebrate one of our own rising stars, Lydia Jacobs-Stagner, whose entrepreneurial spirit and creative flair extend beyond the stage and into the world of baking. At just 12 years old, Lydia balances her love for performing arts with running her own baking and vending machine businesses.

Her journey began at the tender age of six when she experimented with creating digestible dog treats for her beloved pet. That endeavor sparked a love for cooking, which has since evolved into Lydia’s MiniBakery, offering a delectable array of granola, savory breads, cookies, and cheesecake. This self-taught baker also whips up a mean double chocolate bread, and her fans can't get enough of her magic cookie bars and croissants.

But Lydia's culinary ventures don't stop at baking. She also keeps her family well-fed with savory dinners like garlic lime chicken and rice or buffalo chicken taquitos. Her knack for cooking is paired with her burgeoning business acumen, and she now stocks a vending machine at the Mississippi Delta Community College Greenwood Center with snacks carefully curated based on student preferences.

Homeschooling has given Lydia the flexibility to explore her passions fully, and her mom, Erin, couldn't be prouder of her entrepreneurial drive. With encouragement from Delta Streets Academy's T. Mac Howard, Lydia has developed her vending machine business, learning essential lessons in customer satisfaction, supply management, and inventory control.

When she’s not busy running her businesses or cooking up delicious meals, Lydia finds time for other pursuits, including acting in Greenwood Little Theatre productions, taking piano lessons, and practicing taekwondo.

Though Lydia isn't sure if she wants to pursue a career in the culinary field, we admire her tenacity and creativity as she continues to build her skills and share her delicious treats with the community. Greenwood Little Theatre is proud to have Lydia as a member of our family, and we can't wait to see what she accomplishes next!
