Grant To Fund Improvements At Davis Elementary

Davis Elementary School is in line to receive a variety of improvements pending the Greenwood Leflore Consolidated District School Board attorney’s approval of a $5,000 grant. 

The Greenwood Board of Realtors submitted the proposal for the grant to the National Association of Realtors on behalf of Greenwood Little Theatre after Realtor Pam Powers heard of the grant. Powers serves as president of the Little Theatre board. 

The association accepted the proposal.

The grant is provided through the National Association of Realtors’ Smart Growth grant program. The Greenwood Board of Realtors is responsible for gathering donations in money or services to match the $5,000. 

Improvements to be made with help from the grant include landscaping, pressure washing, lighting, irrigation, and the installation of trees and all-weather seating outside the building, among other things. Through an agreement with the school district, Little Theatre performs plays in the Davis Elementary auditorium.
