GLT to hold auditions for "M*A*S*H"
The Greenwood Little Theatre will hold open auditions for its production of Richard Hooker’s M*A*S*H.
Auditions will take place at the theater at 7:00 pm on Monday, July 15 and Tuesday, July 16. The production dates are October 10-13.
The directors for the show are father-daughter duo, Robin and Nichole Henry.
Most recently, Nichole appeared in Ragtime: The Musical as “Emma Goldman” and she is now the acting President of Greenwood Little Theatre. In 2017, Nichole presented her directorial debut, No Exit by Jean-Paul Sartre. Her numerous stage appearances include Almost, Maine (2019), Dearly Beloved (2011), The Buddy Holly Story (2011), Bus Stop (2008), and Gypsy (2007). Nichole is a hair stylist and makeup artist at The Alluvian Hotel and Spa and owner of Reel Cosmetology.
Robin, an architect in Greenwood, seems so have a knack for pulling off military comedies as he co-directed No Time for Sergeants at GLT in 2009. He has also appeared on the GLT stage as a performer in Bus Stop (2008) and Gypsy (2007).
The story started out as a novel by Richard Hooker, and then turned into a major motion picture, then into one of the most successful television shows in American culture. In between all of that, Tim Kelly developed a stage play based on the novel. The stage play has been done many times due to the success of the franchise.
GLT is looking to fill roles for 15 males and 15 females. Miss Henry said they are going to be flexible with casting.
No experience or prepared speeches are required.
