Auditions for "A Christmas Carol" at Greenwood Little Theatre

Greenwood Little Theatre is excited to announce auditions for A Christmas Carol, adapted and directed by Luke Quinn! This beloved holiday classic, based on the novella by Charles Dickens, will transport audiences to Victorian England, where the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge learns the true meaning of Christmas. Whether you're an experienced actor or a newcomer, we welcome you to join us for this magical production.

Audition Details:

  • Dates and Times:

    • Thursday, September 26, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM

    • Friday, September 27, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM

  • Location:

    • Davis Elementary School Auditorium, 400 Cotton St., Greenwood, MS.

Parking suggestions and entrance information. A volunteer will guide auditioners to the correct location.

Roles Available:

We are casting a minimum of 28 players for this production, including:

  • 9 men

  • 4 women

  • 4 male teenagers

  • 3 female teenagers

  • 6 young boys

  • 2 young girls

This is a wonderful opportunity for families to be part of a community theater experience together! Below are the main characters we are casting:

  • Ebenezer Scrooge: Male, 50-70

  • Bob Cratchit: Male, 30-45

  • Fred: Male, 20-35

  • Gentleman 1: Male, 30-50

  • Gentleman 2: Male, 30-50

  • Young Caroler: Any gender, 8-12

  • Jacob Marley: Male, 50-70

  • Ghost of Christmas Past: Any gender, appears ageless

  • Ghost of Christmas Present: Male, 30-50

  • Ghost of Christmas Future: Appears ageless, often depicted as a shadowy figure

  • Ensemble characters are also available for men, women, and children.

Audition Process:

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script, so no preparation is necessary. Simply come ready to bring these iconic characters to life!

Performance Dates:

  • December 19, 20, 21, and 22, 2024
