Rediscover the Magic of Literature with Greenwood Little Theatre's "The Enchanted Bookshop"

Greenwood Little Theatre is proud to present an enchanting production that will transport you into the whimsical world of classic literature. "The Enchanted Bookshop" invites you to fall in love all over again with beloved characters from children’s stories in a heartwarming tale of adventure, friendship, and the magic of books.

Directed by the talented Roishina C. Henderson, making her directorial debut with this production, "The Enchanted Bookshop" follows the story of Margie, the passionate owner of A Likely Story bookstore. Margie's love for literature is palpable, and her dedication to her bookstore is unwavering, despite the struggles it faces.

Portrayed by the charismatic Tracie Agnew, Margie is a character who truly lives and breathes through the pages of the books she adores. As the story unfolds, Margie discovers that her bookstore is inhabited by a cast of classic storybook characters who come to life at night, including Dorothy, Robin Hood, Sherlock Holmes, and more.

But Margie's bookstore isn't just home to literary characters—it also attracts the attention of some mischievous thieves, leading to a delightful twist in the plot. As Margie and her newfound friends rally together to save the bookstore, audiences are treated to a mix of comedy, action, and heartwarming moments that celebrate the joy of reading.

Featuring a talented cast of over 20 members, including both children and adults, "The Enchanted Bookshop" promises to be a captivating theatrical experience. Each actor brings their character to life with dedication and enthusiasm, making for an unforgettable performance that will leave you thoroughly entertained.

One of the highlights of the play is its emphasis on the importance of reading. As Agnew beautifully puts it, "The play itself shows the value of reading." Through the magic of theater, audiences are reminded of the profound impact that books can have on our lives.

For director Roishina C. Henderson, this production marks not only a creative endeavor but also a journey back to her roots in community theater. With a newfound love for the stage and a supportive cast and crew, Henderson hopes to inspire audiences to support not only "The Enchanted Bookshop" but all Greenwood Little Theatre productions.
